Prayer Restored At Dodge County Board Meetings

The Dodge County Board's tradition of having a prayer or invocation at the beginning of its meetings has been restored to some extent. By a 33 to 2 vote supervisors Tuesday approved a resolution that would allow a prayer to be said prior to beginning of meetings. A group of rotating clergy will lead a prayer before the monthly meeting is brought to order. Supervisor Dean Fuller who filed the original complaint with the Freedom of Religion Foundation that generated the controversy is now concerned that not every religion will be represented. A letter is being sent out to local religious leaders asking if they are interested in saying a prayer before a County Board meeting.
